The 2nd Children Creative Movement Forum:
Development of Creative Movement in Hong Kong from the Perspective of Independent Artists, Art Groups, and Educational Institutions

There are no fixed steps, combinations, postures and styles in Creative Movement. It is a “game” that awakens the body’s motor instincts, stimulates creativity and imagination, and encourages children to express themselves physically. There are many benefits, yet, as the dance industry and educators are becoming more aware of this concept and practice, Creative Movement is still not easily accessible and rarely features in the curriculum of schools and education institutions.

At this year’s Children Creative Movement Forum, Unlock Dancing Plaza invites independent artists, art groups and representatives from educational institutions to share and discuss their experience in implementing Creative Movement Education from three aspects and multiple perspectives. By drawing on examples from mainland China and Japan and discussing with local educational artists, the possibilities of Creative Movement development for local children are explored.
